Tuesday, March 24, 2020 28 Adar 5780

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMChapel

I understand God as an eternal presence in the universe which humans can sense. In this talk, we will trace the evolution of this experience as humans, homo sapiens, evolved. We’ll look at amazing archeology finds around the world. We’ll see confirmation by recent work in the neurosciences. Finally, we’ll see that the Sh’ma confirms this point of view. Rabbi Larry Seidman is as a community rabbi, based in Irvine –officiating at weddings and funerals, being a chaplain at the Orange County Jails, and serving wherever he can contribute. His first life was as an engineer. After retiring, Rabbi Larry studied Rabbinics for five years and was ordained at the transdenominational Academy for Jewish Religion, California (AJRCA). One of his major interests is integrating the teachings of Judaism with contemporary scientific understanding. This talk, and his website, WWW.RationalRabbi.com, reflects his commitment to deepening Jewish practice while retaining the engineer’s rationalism.
